Before we proceed to the question of training in child psychotherapy, it is essential to spend a few minutes considering the nature of child psychotherapy itself. The child stands in relation to society fundamentally different from that occupied by the adult; he does not control his own circumstances or seek help himself for his own troubles; he is complained of, he does not complain; it is impossible for him often to understand the nature of the complaint made about him.
