The Lowenfeld Approach to Therapeutic Work

The Lowenfeld Approach to Therapeutic Work

  • About

By Thérèse Woodcock on the work of Margaret Lowenfeld

    1. Paraphrasing & extending a quotation from Lowenfeld:
How do we as human beings, both children & adults, think, register and group our experiences? How do we make sense of the situation we find ourselves in?
When & how do we all learn what a chair is? Do we learn about it because it was defined for us in words or did we register the notion through personal experience? Do we tend to go through life knowing & being able to identify chairs of all kinds in our culture without ever having to have it defined in words for us? How often would we get it wrong?
